Jumu’at-ul-Wida
El último viernes del Ramadán, el «viernes de despedida», con grandes congregaciones.
Por qué se celebra
Jumu’at-ul-Wida is the last Friday prayer of Ramadan. Mosques overflow as people pray together and bid farewell to the blessed month.
La historia que hay detrás
Friday (Jumu’ah) is the weekly day of congregational prayer in Islam, and a Friday within Ramadan is especially valued. On the last one, imams remind the faithful to carry the patience and charity of Ramadan into the rest of the year, and many pray for the people of Al-Quds (Jerusalem).
Cómo celebrarla
- Attend the Jumu’ah prayer early
- Make dua for family, the community and the world
- Give fitrana early so it reaches the poor before Eid
- Prepare for the last nights of Ramadan
