About these muhurats
Naming ceremony. Traditionally on the 11th or 12th day after birth; if that day is not suitable, on the next good day.
Dates →First solid food (rice). In the 6th, 8th, 10th or 12th month for a boy and the 5th, 7th, 9th or 11th month for a girl.
Dates →First haircut (Chudakarana). In the 1st, 3rd or 5th year of life, preferably in Uttarayana (mid-January to mid-July).
Dates →Ear piercing. Often in the 6th, 7th or 8th month, or in the 3rd or 5th year.
Dates →Beginning of learning (Akshar-abhyas). Usually around the 5th year, often on Vasant Panchami or Vijayadashami; Uttarayana is preferred.
Dates →Marriage. Not during Kharmas, Chaturmas or Adhik maas, and not while Jupiter or Venus is combust. Matching the couple (Kundali Milan) comes first.
Dates →Entering a new home. Not during Kharmas, Chaturmas or Adhik maas; Shukla paksha is preferred.
