The Compiler of the Vedas
Vyasa means "the compiler, the arranger"; he divided the Vedas and authored the Mahabharata.
He arranged the boundless Vedas into four and composed the hundred-thousand-verse Mahabharata, earning the name Vyasa — "the one who arranged" the knowledge of an entire civilisation.
Vyasa (Krishna Dvaipayana) gave India its memory. He divided the single Veda into four, composed the Mahabharata, and is honoured every year on Guru Purnima as the first teacher.
His name gives a child the gift of knowledge, order and timeless wisdom.
He compiled the four Vedas, authored the Mahabharata (including the Bhagavad Gita), and composed the Puranas.
