நான்காம் சீக்கிய குரு, அமிர்தசரஸ் நகரை நிறுவி, சீக்கிய திருமணப் பாடல்களான லாவானை இயற்றியவர்.

Guru Ram Das Ji (1534–1581), born Bhai Jetha, was the son-in-law of Guru Amar Das Ji. His Parkash, Gurgaddi and Joti Jot days are Gurpurabs.

An orphan who sold boiled grams to earn a living, Bhai Jetha came to Goindwal and served the sangat with great humility. Guru Amar Das married his daughter Bibi Bhani to him and later made him Guru. Guru Ram Das founded the town of Ramdaspur and began digging the sacred pool — the “pool of nectar”, Amritsar — around which the city grew. He wrote the four Laavan hymns, around which every Sikh wedding (Anand Karaj) still takes place.
