St Joseph
La fiesta de José, el carpintero de Nazaret y padre adoptivo de Jesús (19 marzo).
Por qué se celebra
Saint Joseph is honoured as the protector of the Holy Family and of the Church, and as the patron of workers and fathers.
La historia que hay detrás
Joseph, a just man, was told by an angel in a dream not to be afraid to take Mary as his wife. He protected the child Jesus, fled with the family to Egypt to escape King Herod, and taught Jesus his trade as a carpenter. The Gospels record not a single word spoken by him — only what he did.
Cómo celebrarla
- Attend Mass and pray for fathers and workers
- Set up a “St Joseph’s table” to feed the poor
- Honour the father figures in your life
- Do your work with honesty and care
