The Unshakeable Pole Star
Dhruva means "fixed, constant, immovable" — the steadfast one.
A small boy turned away by his father, Dhruva sat in such fierce, immovable penance that Vishnu fixed him forever in the sky as the Pole Star — and so he was named "the constant one."
Stung by rejection, the child Dhruva walked into the forest and meditated with a focus that shook the heavens. Vishnu granted him a place no force could ever move — the Pole Star (Dhruva Tara), around which all the night sky turns.
His name gives a child unshakeable determination and a fixed, guiding purpose.
It is the Pole Star — Dhruva was fixed there by Vishnu as a reward for his steadfast devotion.
