About Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

“Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” is one of the best-loved nursery rhymes in the world. Its words come from a poem by Jane Taylor, published in 1806, and it is sung to the same old French melody as the ABC song.

The rhyme encourages wonder about the night sky. After singing, step outside or look out of a window together and find the brightest star you can see.

The simple, repeating tune makes it a perfect first song for babies and toddlers, and a gentle bedtime rhyme.
